Winter walks—Back to the forest
I have been meaning to get back to Pacific Spirit Regional Park since last shooting there in September, and with Crystal working, Christmas day provided the opportunity to do so. I packed up the new Fujifilm X-T5 and a couple of lenses, and headed out. It was a misty morning, with showers starting and stopping intermittently—perfect conditions to go walking through the woods. The overcast sky provided ample soft light, and the humidity created a lot of atmosphere. Not really wanting to switch lenses in the wet, I ended up shooting everything on the Fujinon 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR, and came away with some vertical shots I feel convey the mood of the day. That these are all portrait orientation is interesting to me, as I tend to shoot more in landscape. I guess I was shooting for the subject here, tall trees.
Before getting to the images, I’ll just add—Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best in the New Year! In the next week, I’ll be trying to sort through my catalog to put together some sort of ‘year in review’ type post. Stay tuned!
