Biography

A student of photography and the world, I strive first to experience, then to share, the details that are often looked past or ignored. Too often we find ourselves hustling about, forgetting to notice, forgetting even to breathe. I like to walk slowly, mindfully, and appreciate everything and everyone around me.

My photography journey began decades ago, with an early DSLR and a college program in journalism. While I didn’t pursue the profession at the time, many years later I found myself yearning to document first my adventures in nature, then the more mundane—my neighborhood, my city, my walks. I have become something of a flâneur, and it’s a good bet that if I’m not working, I’m walking.

In addition to my interest in photography as an form of artistic expression and documentary, I am also fascinated by the tools themselves, the camera bodies and lenses with which I practice.
