The Tower
When I lived in Calgary, I would often walk from my home in the Northwest to the downtown core. As I crossed the Centre Street Bridge, the Calgary Tower would present itself, appearing at the end of the road, framed left and right by highrises. Whereas once long ago, the top of the Tower was the highest of heights, it is now dwarfed by the many castles of glass which surround it. Despite its lessened prominence, the Tower has a way of negating its obscurity, through reflection, shadow, or within frames of concrete and steel.
